INFO:
One of our employees lives very near to the sanctuary, and feeds a bunch of feral cats. They mentioned that they wanted to try to get some spayed, and we said, “Hey! We can help with that!” We started our Community Pet Care program last year as a response to what we were seeing in our very local community. There are huge colonies of feral cats, and even pets with homes often aren’t receiving adequate - or any - vet care. This is a combination of a lot of issues, boiling down to a general lack of resources - money for vet bills, knowledge about what animals require to stay healthy, and even reliable transportation. Thankfully, there are Good Samaritans out there acting on their own to help cats in need, but even they need help. Our employee currently feeds multiple feral cats, all under a year old, who need to be spayed and vaccinated, and they need our help to get it all done. The comprehensive care comes out to about $200 a cat for ferals (they have a discounted rate). Can we help get these cats all fixed up and break the cycle of endless litters of kittens for them?! If we can raise more, it just set us up to take care of the next kitties in need (we know of more in need now as well).
